Subject: Update Regarding Erroneous Credential Status Email
Earlier today, we notified you regarding an erroneous automated email indicating that your ATCB credential was inactive.
We are writing to provide an update.
Our investigation has confirmed that the email was generated by a legacy credential management system that is no longer used to manage ATCB credential records. The legacy system was maintained in a read-only capacity during our technology transition to preserve historical records and was not intended to generate credential holder communications.
Your credential status in the current MyATCB system was never changed. The MyATCB portal reflects your accurate credential status.
Upon identifying the source of the issue, ATCB immediately:
- Confirmed that credential records in the current MyATCB system were not impacted.
- Identified and isolated the source of the erroneous communication.
- Began working with the previous technology provider to ensure the legacy system can no longer generate automated communications.
- Notified our Board of Directors, NCCA, and legal counsel.
- Initiated a formal review of the incident and additional safeguards related to technology transitions and credential communications.
We sincerely apologize for the confusion and concern this communication caused. We understand that receiving an inaccurate notification regarding your professional credential is unsettling, and we are committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and security of our credentialing systems.
If you have any questions regarding your individual credential status, please contact us directly. We are responding to all inquiries as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
